    Poker Brat does it again
World Series of Poker win extends Phil Hellmuth's record

Hellmuth won his 14th tournament bracelet early Tuesday morning, placing him four ahead of poker's other iconic winners Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan and Phil Ivey. The gold bracelets, poker's version of a Super Bowl ring or Olympics medals, have been handed out to winners of the individual World Series of Poker events since the tournament's early beginnings in 1976.

Like we said the other day, he's a bracelet chaser. He's put in a huge amount of volume over the course of what, 30 years? You give some of these tournament pro's today short fields like they had in the 80's & 90's and 30 years and they'll get to 14 too.

                            ...but...

with that said it's still impressive. There's a reason a lot of players don't play for 30 years. They grow tired of it or go busto. Some get unhealthy and die. Takes an incredible amount of dedication to play in that atmosphere for that long. Phil is the Cal Ripken of Poker.
