lol 21 million dollars so far and a whole town living in lock down. Fantastic use of resources, 2 guys... only 2 guys have escaped from this place in what was it? many decades right? and that justifies spending a million dollars a day? Spend 1 million a day on something that has happened once in a 100 years or something at this prison. No, don't spend the 21 million actually shoring up your security... spend it on a goose hunt.

Tax payers are lucky these guys didn't kill a cop on the way out or there would be twice force looking, 3x the cost and they'd never stop searching as opposed to searching for someone who just murdered a regular citizen; Oh wait one of them did kill a cop didn't he and quite gruesomely... There are the two theories we have here. They did this all themselves or they had help from the outside on everything. Any good intelligence reports are probably not in the media so what we have been allowed to read or view is probably pretty miniscule.

I cannot fathom how they could evade capture so long by themselves. So, I keep thinking they have had outside help on everything. Which is very,very good help. However, this would require communication. Could a cell phone have been smuggled in the frozen meat or stolen and used? Or access to a phone and then they would have to know someone on the outside that could handle this???

The fact that the cabin where they found DNA from both fugitives is owned by COs tells you that the guards are corrupt and the escape was part of a diabolical plan that took years to plan. YEARS!
How do you get an entire prison to look the other way while you tunnel out?
Even if you have dirt on the guards, they aren't going to LET YOU OUT!
If you're a guard and an inmate has dirt on you wouldn't you want him dead or in solitary? The last thing you want is to set him free!
There had to be a promise of a huge payoff in the future. The payoff would have to be enough to convince at least two or three guards to risk their freedom, basically.
Unless the master plan is so good that the risk is minimal and the payoff is too good to resist, why help them?

Richard Matt's portraits are pretty good apparently. He painted many of them and distributed them mainly to guards.
If you have 10 of them and he goes down as the most infamous fugitive ever, you are sitting on a potential fortune.
It's far fetched but so is everything else in this crazy story!

Why would you incriminate the people who set you free by planting your DNA at their cabin? Why would any CO use that cabin to facilitate the head fake?
