Will Corey Kluber get 300 Ks?
Almost impossible this day and age for a pitcher to get 300 Ks. Hes got 105 through 12 starts so far...

Remarkably, this has only been accomplished 29 times in the live ball era... 12 of these seasons were by Randy Johnson or Nolan Ryan (6 each). Last to hit 300 was Shilling and Johnson in 2002

The teams in the AL Central excluding the White Sox don't strike out much. If he were in the NL East where each team strikes out a lot, there's a decent mathematical chance he might. But of course there all kinds of other factors like health, racing for a playoff spot, free agency, etc...

Doubt it because nobody tosses Complete Games with any regularity any more.

I think this is why he has a shot. 5/12 starts he's pitched 8+ innings, including 4 out of the last 5 starts. For most guys I would agree though... most pitchers, even aces, are looking to go 6-7 innings, then give way to the bullpen. Kluber has been on fire lately, and he is a rare guy who will give you 8-9 innings on a regular basis. There really isnt more than a dozen of these guys left any more.

pretty remarkable that in 2002 the DBacks had two 300 Ks pitchers. Probably the best 1-2 punch we've seen at the top of a rotation in recent history. At least for a 2-3 year stretch there... Shilling should be in the HOF imo.
