#7Martinez undefeated, but playing above norm, however still only 24 so
maybe he's just getting better.
First MLB debut for 22 yr old prospect out of Pawtucket
has a rep for going after batters aggressively. That is backed up by his stats.
Probably a recipe for disaster and home runs. Texas is the play,
only question is how large. No Ortiz.
Josh Hamilton first return back home.
If you think Fielder, Hamilton and rest of Ranger roster
can't hit a AAA pitcher, then bet Boston.Comment -

#9So how is a pitcher making his debut with a team struggling against a team who has been playing decent with their ace a favourite?Originally posted by SnowballMartinez undefeated, but playing above norm, however still only 24 so

#11NEVER should a team that is on a 3-7 run, just coming off being swept, no Ortiz, worse team record than the Rangers, on the road going against a team that is on a 8-2 run, a pitcher that has a record of 4-0 with a 1.96 era be favorite. How and the heck is Texas the play? #12I agree makes no sense we have 63% public on Texas and line still dropping towards BOS. #13maybe some heavy hitters on a martingale Red Sox. guys chasing them until they win.
seems likely to be a game where one team blows out the other.
I'm on Texas because Rodriguez has not faced batters of this caliber and
also because the Red Sox are garbage.
But not big, just in case Martinez collapses.Comment -

#14Oh, it makes sense that maj. of the public is on Texas. Like they say, vegas is not built by winners. Even if Texas wins, so be it, but majority of these fishy lines pans out. Fyi...my plays for today are Boston,Detroit, and Atlanta. Good luck 2 all on whatever you play todayOriginally posted by frizzelliI agree makes no sense we have 63% public on Texas and line still dropping towards BOS. I might get buried tonightComment -

#16Not "due", it is natural regression expected. BIG Difference.Originally posted by Snowballprobably cuz people think Red Sox are "due", or Martinez is "due" to lose,
like the guy that started this thread.
"Due" means a pitcher has been pitching very well and now may be the chance to throw in an inevitable stinker. I do NOT believe in the "Due Theory" because of a pitcher has strong peripherals, there is no reason to suddenly expect a bad outing this time.
Natural regression is a pitcher that has been pitching well but has been outperforming his peripheral stats, as generally speaking, mainstream numbers will converge to peripherals. THAT is the case with Martinez, who has awful peripherals.Comment -

#26The future.Originally posted by frogsrangersWho the fuk is this red Sox pitcher he is dealing
He should stick, he is already better than some of the Boston starers now. Boston said earlier this would only be a spot start but I think they may have a tough time sending him back down. And what exactly does he have left to prove at Triple-A after already dominating there all year?

#27I don't do MLB. I trust LT... I bet on Boston 1x. It's not that guys won't hit this pitcher... it's the fact they haven't faced him before. I see the Indians for example always sucking vs a guy making his MLB debut. Big factor in MLB. Guys making their debut also you don't think they are 100% laser focused?
Gonna take a shot on Yanks under 8 1x... if it loses oh well split for day. Trying to survive till FinalsComment -

#28I guess the reason I didnt wanna trust him was because I heard the talk that they intended on sending him back down. Not exactly a ringing endorsement when your staff sux as bad as the sox currently does.Originally posted by LT ProfitsThe future.

#34Fishy line in reference to Bos/tex game, ughhhh how is Atlanta fishy? Basic stats that if you cap you should auto know but I'll explain:Atlanta team record 23-23 to San Fran team record 28-20,Miller 5-1 1.50 to Heston 4-3 4.33 so while miller better pitcher record wise, Heston has a winning record. Atlanta on a 6-4 run to San Fran 8-2 run. San Fran at home, and both pitchers have a win in their last decision. So why should I be bashing my head? Your argument would make sense if San fran was fav like -170 and up or so imo. But hey what do I know. Looks like I am wrong on Detroit.Originally posted by Ghenghis Kahnyou say fishy lines pan out but you have atlanta.
