It's hard for non-U.S. people to become pros. You can't become a pro by contributing points or making a donation if you don't live in the U.S. In any case most SBR pros lose at gambling too.

It just seems from me browsing the forum pros are more respected as I think posters look at the status to make sure they're a pro before they start writing on a particular topic

I wrote a whole post on how it's +ev. Especially now with it being $100 and not $200 donation. Target, Amazon gift cards are normally available. From a pure financial perspective its +ev

Financial? Buddy were talkin about a couple hundred bucks to remain anonymous, I'll take that over trying to gain some clout on an internet forum. If someone walked up to me at a sportsbook and was all "Hey man! I'm an SBR Pro." I'd not only laugh so hard inside id almost pass out but would say "Oooooo guess we better watch out for u then" In the most condescending manner imaginable and trust me I can come off as a real prick.

Which is why I said its +ev when you aren't considering anything other than return on that $100 investment. Some people think they are so high and mighty that anonymity is important to them. In that case, anonymity may be worth more than a positive return on your investment. But from a PURELY financial return on investment. It is +ev. that is the only argument I am making here
