I noticed on a different thread that many people said Bovada isn't great for U.S. players. There weren't any reasons. Does anyone know why people look down on Bovada for U.S. players? Top 3 reasons?
Thanks in advance.

I actually play all my action on Bovada. My local went out of business.
Bovada has excellent dog lines, easy to buy hooks, nice mobile app, GREAT Live betting.
And now they send Canadian checks which is super easy living in Detroit so close to Canada. They used to send checks from Singapore - nobody would cash that shit.

They ALWAYS pay. Wish they would hang their lines a little sooner.

SKETCH CHECKS
I would avoid if you have other options. 2 of my buddys recieved checks that the banks held and didnt give them their money to and flagged their bank accounts. 1 check looked literally photocopied. The whole point of betting is the MONEY. Checks were from China, then Canada then god knows where...

I had a Bodog account years ago. I opened a Bovada account around Black Friday but never used it. I deposited recently and ran it up a little. Small potatoes. I deposited with a tarjeta de credito (una Vísa) with my current address. Several days ago I'm checking the account info and settings and happen to see that they have my way old address from when I first opened my Bodog account, so I change it to my current.
Three days later when I log in on a mobile device, I notice my account is disabled. I call and ask what's up. I'm used to this hassle and figure they want something with my address on it that verifies my identity. Great. I send them an ID card (non-picture) that has my name, address, and DOB on it. They don't accept it. I now try to log into the software, and it says log-in failed; unable to process request. Same result as before when logging in via website - account disabled. I'll send in my Vísa statement (the same one I used to deposit). If they don't accept that, they're really playing games.

I've been with them for years and as long as paperwork is done correctly I've had no issues. Canadian checks cashed without problem and never a hold. I'm not trying to be a smart a$$ but why send an ID card without a picture?. I think they're trying to protect the account instead of playing games. Just give me a call.

Sent my passport card. They won't accept that. I'm really screwed. How was I able to deposit and play if they hadn't sufficiently verified my identity?
I'm getting shafted and am really disappointed about potentially losing this money.

Who doesn't have a photo license? Have you emailed them to get a list of acceptable identifications?

you can get a state ID with a pic n all (NOT a drivers license, if you're 'unable' to get that)
Assuming you're a US citizen
