Why is the NBA starting the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday?

The Western Conference Finals are not set. They will be set after tomorrow's Game 7 between LAC/Hou.


Why would the NBA start the Western Conference Finals before the East? Sometimes this league is so stupid.

The playoffs are slotted before they even begin. Already have a start date for the finals even if both conference finals are sweeps

Probably TV scheduling. Western Conference games normally start later than the East. People have to watch their Law & Order reruns on time.

Like seaborneq said, the schedule was set. If Wizards/Hawks would have gone seven games, Game 7 would have been Monday. That is why East starts Wednesday.

Conference Finals will have Friday and Saturday nights. Games scheduled every day starting with West Game 1 Tuesday through Monday June 1st if series go seven games.

Incorrect. Game 1 is tuesday. From the end of game 7 to start of game 1 is 49 hours.
