Pro membership not necessary for sbrcontests

Well LT, I am not sure about that. Last time I tried to join a " Dane" contest it required "Pro" status to transfer points. Maybe it wasn't an SBR sacntioned one, not sure. Either way, I am out of the latest one they can keep the points.

Right, non-pros can't TRANSFER more than 2 points per day. But this has nothing to do with that, there is no transferring of points to other posters involved.

the contest you are referring to was a "pool/draft" private contest, where you being a non-pro, could only transfer 2 pts per day, thus requiring 63 days to transfer the 125 pt. entry fee.
in official sbr contests you can enter even if you are non-pro, as entry fee points are deducted from your account directly, with no transfer necessary.
