The only way the Griz cover is if the Dubs showboat excessively. They are guilty many times of going for flamboyant plays instead of systematically going for the jugular when they have an opponent down 8-12 points. Their confidence is their undoing in failing to cover some at home, particularly late in the season. Conley will help a lot particularly on offense as he orchestrates their flow. Don't see him getting more than 20 minutes though. But GS is not given the credit for locking down on defense. They generally do that for 1-1/2 quarters and stifle teams. If they play that D for 1 1/2 quarters I don't see Memphis having enough O to keep up. If GS is up 7 or 8 in the last 6 minutes they will cover at the foul line. I see a 12-14 point win tonight...

The showboat plays don't have anything to do with the spread...they have to do with playing soundly. When you have a team down it's easier to play soundly and attempt to systematically put them away...not make a spectacular play. THAT is what I was talking about. Covering a spread happens naturally more often when you play with a killer mentality. GS could take lessons on this...Kerr is trying to teach them this.
