Mariota will struggle because he cant make NFL throws. I never consider these type qbs running ability when I look at them, its about making reads and the ability to make throws in tight windows, arm strength, touch, an feel, the leg speed is irrelavant to me. Same with Manziel he cant make the throws, stares down receivers, and doesnt let the ball go quick enough, he's everything scouts claim to be against including his lack of height, yet they still drafted him first round. Maybe Mariota will prove different I hope so.

He doesn't always set his feet when he throws and that is a flaw that will be exposed tenfold at this level.

Would like to see him succeed but his best chance was with Chip Kelly in this system where he has his options and can get the ball out quickly.

Do agree Philly would of been best fit due to knowing how Chip does things.

He will need to work on footwork and handling the ball when running for sure.

I gave Philly fans a bunch of shit for believing they could actually turn fragile, noodle-armed, $13M Sam Bradford into Mariota, but this post is spot on.

Philly fans should be extremely happy, as this trade would've set their franchise back a good 5-7 years minimum.

Winston and Mariota are both set-up for massive failure. Two irrelevant, horrific franchises with absolutely dreadful offensive coaching staffs. Winston has the better physique/build to actually last in the league, but will throw a ton of picks and his immaturity will always cause problems.

And while Mariota is the smarter guy, he's way too quiet, is not a natural pocket passer, and can't make multiple reads or NFL throws. Both were horrible picks at #1 and #2 regardless, and it was exacerbated by the teams they went to.
