Unreal. Division title for the Rockets is the tiebreaker for teams that end up with the same record. Rockets have a division title, Spurs and Clips do not. Hence, Rockets are the 2nd seed and will have home court over anybody in the west besides the warriors.

I suppose playing the 5 seed is better than playing the 3 because they would of been 6th I think. Although in that case memphis should be 4, so this year it wouldnt of mattered much due to 2-6th outside of portland were pretty even record wise

Memphis problem is that Randolph is not a big enough star to get the calls from the refs like all the big names do deep in the playoffs, and he is their most important piece

watch the last couple years of the playoffs with him, he is literally getting karate chopped in the paint and the refs call nothing

The rule that division champ is guaranteed a top-four seed pushed the Spurs down to a six-seed when they would have been a five-seed based on records and Portland would have been a six-seed. It changed the first round matchups.
