If you have the money you can lay the free play bet off some where else for over 70% of its value then just arb (or find a low % market match up between 2 books where you only lose a couple bucks per bet) it back and forth 3 times to complete the rollover if you want, or just bet it normally til the rollover is complete

Obviously need like a couple grand to lay off the original free play, but if you can then that's the best way to get the most value from it

Just bet the freeplay money just like regular every day wagers. Then if you lose it all, you actually saved yourself $500 that you would have bet anyway

True, but a lot of people will pick up a game on the leaderboard, which may be a more realistic goal than actually hitting 21in a row. But you're right, it's not a loss and keeps me alive.
