The first thread I read of this clown's was about him traveling with some bottom dad character and it kept going for weeks. I definitely understand where your coming from, Booya. Some people find his schtick funny and some don't like it. I totally respect that. The problem with the interweb is that it creates a forum for the most serious and most ridiculous commentary to be placed side by side. When I first started following SBR it was for gambling advice and nothing else. After I realized I was in the same boat as most of the guys on here and that tailing is a deathtrap, I started taking the whole thing a little less seriously. I think there are a number of very smart and funny guys on here. Now I come here for information and entertainment. Some of the trolling and hate are some of the funniest shit on here in my opinion. I think many people come here for many different reasons.
I, for example, don't have a lot of friends in my real life who are particularly interested in sports other than hockey, so SBR provides me a place where I can discuss the sports I really enjoy with people who know what their talking about.
Theres a lot of conspiracy nuts on here and other things I totally avoid, like posters who just follow around people they think are bad gamblers and berate them for losing plays or inaccurate record keeping etc. I think Seaweed knows that what he does here is mostly in jest or with some kind of facetious attitude. Maybe facetious isn't the right word. In all fairness I haven't been around that long and have never seen any of Saer's bottom dad stories. I just think some people overreact. Its like some people feel they are being personally disrespected when Saer posts. The beauty of the internet forum is there is a place for all of us and that it isn't a lot of work to ignore the things you don't like. I think there is a place in forumville for the serious capers, the tolls, the sarcastic dickheads like myself.
I don't want to take sides here, because I am as classic a Canadian, fence sitting mediator as they come. To me, 90% of what is on here is all in good fun.Comment -
Its not just them. Its the whole "creating a mountain out of a mole hill" thing I don't like.
To each his own though. I just think it would be difficult to enjoy life if you walk around angry all the time. Maybe I just don't have enough to be angry about.
