do they really give you a $200 free play for signing up?

i have never played. And to be honest i am not even very tempted to play.

What i dont get is how is this not considered a form of gambling...

you risk money on sports in attempt to win money on sports???

Whoever started this company must have had some pretty fancy attorneys.

While there is some gamble to DFS, there are many levels of strategy and if you are lazy or believe that you can toss a dart, create a lineup, and take down a tourney, let alone cash in one, you will get eaten alive. Hockey is a perfect example of how opportunities to deploy different strategies and being semi-contrarian, can pay off.

The rake in cash games is just plain greedy--no two ways about it. Hopefully an increase in competition will lead to a more reasonable rake.

sports gambling wouldn't be so bad if the markets weren't so efficient, books boot winners, and getting money out presents its own set of challenges. My rule of thumb "if there's a spread, your roll will soon be dead." MLB, NHL, Nascar & PGA are gamblers' only hope, and most gamblers can't stand these sports. I suppose teasers offer some great opportunities because the markets are efficient.

It's beatable, but you have to spend a lot of time on it. Just like anything gambling related. You have to watch lineups like a hawk.
