    Jake Locker retired..?

I am retiring from football after much reflection and discussion with my family. I will always be grateful for having had the opportunity to realize my childhood dream of playing in the NFL and for the lifelong relationships I developed because of that experience. Football has always played a pivotal role in my life and I love the game, but I no longer have the burning desire necessary to play the game for a living; to continue to do so would be unfair to the next organization with whom I would eventually sign. I realize this decision is surprising to many, but I know in my heart that it is the right decision and I look forward to spending more time with my family and pursuing other interests.

other interests as in MLB!...remember he was drafted by the Anaheim Angels back in 2006 but decided to play football at Washington...I don't blame him...He was a standout pitcher and outfielder...and he's young enough to play at least 10+ seasons and make a helluva lot more money than he would have in the NFL...

That is true. He was drafted like right out of highschool.

He was certainly no David Carr.

A record 76 sacks in your rookie season? Welcome to the NFL.

Despite everything the NFL does for a safer game. It still is a gladiator sport that takes some crazy in the head to play. Locker is not crazy enough.

                      i mean kind of yeah

even his last year at Washington he didn't really seem to meet up to the hype

those Pac-10 scrambling 1st down adventures just don't happen 3 or 4 times a drive in the big show consistently either

that senior year is what killed him. remember people thought he was insane for staying, would have been the number 1 overall pick most likely.

think about it, he comes out after his junior year, even if he doesn't go number 1, he's probably not with the titans, the shittiest team in the world, and maybe his career is looking different. dude has a cannon though. maybe he should try to get into a bullpen somewhere.

Horrendous QB on a terrible football team.
Interesting to learn he plays baseball at a very high level too. Will be interesting to monitor. Thanks.
