Furman on one of the most impressive runs in recent memory if not EVER

Playing in the Southern Conference tourney tomorrow vs Wofford.

This is a bottom 50 team with only 6 regular season wins against D1 opponents all year. They have won 3 in a row in the conference tourney.

THEY HAVE NOT WON 3 GAMES IN A ROW AGAINST D1 OPPONENTS SINCE FEB 2011...

IF THEY WERE TO WIN TOMORROW v WOFFORD THEY WOULD BE THE WORST TEAM TO MAKE THE TOURNAMENT IN AT LEAST 15 YEARS (which is as far back as the data I am using goes). TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE THEY WOULD BE AMONG THE WORST TEAMS EVER TO MAKE THE TOURNAMENT

I cannot remember a team this bad making such an impressive run at the end of the year.

While I think Wofford will (and should) beat the hell out of them, I am rooting for them. This is crazy.

I'm going huge on Wofford. Furman is still garbage. Somehow Mercer managed to shoot 28% for the game tonight and lost.

Yeah I am also thinking about loading up on Wofford. Line will be steep because Wofford is way better than any other team in the Southern. There run thus far has been, well, as mentioned, unprecedentedly improbable.

Sucks about your $215. You made the right call. It sums up why betting college basketball is such a nightmare.

Did some research.

Only teams this bad ever to make the tournament have been the 94/95 FIU Panthers & the 98/99 Florida A&M Rattlers.

Hard to tell which teams are worse. Both teams won more D1 regular season games than Furman. A&M came out of the abysmal MEAC so they are probably the worst team ever.

Would love to see Furman as a 16 seed at +40 vs Kentucky.

I guess they would have to survive the play-in game which seems rather unlikely. Both teams mentioned above made it prior to the introduction of the 68 team field.

Wofford has to cover this. Furman shoot out their asses the whole game. They are down 52-47 and that is with making 7-10 threes.

FTs - 88% (7-8)

Not sure how a team as bad as Furman can play this well.

And thats with Furman's best player getting hurt and not even playing for most of the game.
