    5Dimes Issue...
    Yet another 5Dimes issue thread....

I login to my account and see -$48.55 (I assumed I had $0 since I had lost my last wager of $109.23)

I was going to deposit more but now I am back to DSI.

I received a cash back of $16.76 (big deal)

I proceed to put this on a longshot wager to win $92.47. It won.

My balance when I woke up was $109.23. I obviously have no reason to check the results of the wager as I see it won and settled in my balance.

I put the whole $109.23 on an over/under in a tennis match. It lost, back at $0, oh well time to re-up.

Logging in a few hours later, thats when I see I have a -$48.55 balance.

Uriel in live chat explained it was originally graded incorrectly (one match was a win when it should have been a push due to it canceling early), then 5-8 hours later caught and regraded. He noted because it is their error they apologize but I used their $48.55 to make a wager and owe them back.

        a negative balance?

        thats strange.

so basically you would have to deposit $150 to have $100 to bet with....

hmmm if i were you i would ask them to fix it and if they refuse i would take my business elsewhere.

              maybe call again later...

some of the customer service people there are very cool and easy to work with.

however over the years i have encountered a few with attitudes.

i guess everybody has a bad day every once in awhile.

I wonder if say you won a $1000 parlay with that money if your balance would have been reset to 956 or would the bet have been voided.

I have a feeling this isn't going to end how you want it to. I was in the same situation with an Aussie book - now about to be taken over by a UK one - and it doesn't make a difference if the bet won or lost. My account was in the hole for like $90 and it was going to be sent to the Aussie equivalent of the credit bureau if I didn't clear it up. Obviously not something you have to worry about but I *think* the bigger books don't care if you won or lost... you used money that wasn't yours. Makes sense but it sucks though if you want to play there again.

                        Shari-

Yes they just kept saying, "you lost money that was not yours". As most people do for tennis or overnight games, you do not check the results or scores, you just log in to your account. When I saw the balance I assumed I won them all. I guess not only do I need to confirm I pick the right games, but also do THEIR jobs of double checking to see if they grade it right.

                        Cmon Tony:

I understand 100%. Mine was tennis of course. Go to bed with bets down, wake up with xxxx winnings, carry on for a new day.

After checking out every transaction and finding out I had been overpaid, I had to decide if it was worth it to pay the $90 or just piss off. For me it wasn't the cash value obviously, it was the principle. But then someone reminded me that's exactly what the book was thinking too. They didn't need my $90... it's the principle of me betting with loot that wasn't mine. In the end I wanted to stick with them so I deposited $200, $90 was auto wiped to them and had a perfect -110 left over for NBA. It wasn't worth me losing that out over a muck up. But that's up to you to decide obv.

Had the same situation with Pinnacle few years ago. Took basketball player prop bet over. Won it. Used those winnings to place another bet which I lost. Then somebody remembered that rule for player props are saying that bets stand only if that player starts the game, and my got in of the bench (wasn't aware of that rule at the time). So my account had negative balance until my next deposit.
