#4812 round decision with no one getting buzzed. Mayweather will do what he does, and stay away from what is left of Manny's power, and cruise to a boring victory. I wish this fight had taken place 5 years ago. I'm actually looking more forward to Alvarez/Kirkland the following weekend.Originally posted by chipshipleyPeople only betting Manny because everyone hates Mayweather cause he's an arrogant prick. Cheapest Floyd Mayweather Vs Manny Pacquiao Tickets Over $4,000 On Secondary Market
Comment Now Follow Comments
</hgroup> It may be later than most have wanted, but “The Fight of the Century” is happening. Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao have signed a contract, agreeing to fight later this year. As the fight has finally on the books, prospective fans hoping to attend will be looking at the most expensive boxing tickets ever tracked on the secondary market. According to Darren Rovell of ESPN, the early word is that the lower level face price will be around $3,500. While that is an astronomical price, it pales in comparison to the $100 million purse that the two fighters will be competing for.
Between endorsements, sponsors and the massive time spent planning and trash talking, both fighters have reveled in the idea of squaring off for the better half of a decade, but negotiations have fallen through each time. As the world awaited a fifth pass, an agreement has been reached with the premiere fight scheduled for May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Now that both camps have signed on the dotted line, they should be ready to generate millions of dollars from the fight, win, lose of draw. In what would be the most lucrative and highest-grossing fight of all-time, Mayweather vs Pacquiao is already generating prices above almost anything else we’ve seen in recent history on the secondary market. With the cheapest ticket on the secondary market is currently going for over $4,000, the only comparable event we’ve see was the recent Super Bowl between the Seahawks and Patriots, which had get-in prices close to the $5,000 mark.

While Mayweather has taken on Marcos Maidana twice since, the most expensive boxing match ever recorded on TiqIQ was between Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez in Las Vegas on September 14, 2013. That year, the average price for tickets was $2,887.69, making tickets to a bout with Manny Pacquiao – a fight that’s been talked about since 2009 – likely to surpass that number considerably on the secondary market. Not only was the Mayweather-Alvarez fight the most expensive boxing match tracked on the secondary market, it was one of the most expensive overall sporting events since 2010. With the pent up demand for this fight, the average price could exceed $3,000 on the secondary market.
Both of Mayweather’s fights against Maidana and Pacquiao’s most recent fight against Timothy Bradley all drew a secondary market average price above $1,000 at MGM Grand Garden Arena, which holds around 17,000 fans. The MGM Grand is considered a small venue for such an enormous fight, which would make tickets even more expensive, on top of the high anticipation of the fight itself. It’s been a long time coming, too long in some eyes, but the public can rest assured that ticket prices won’t come cheap for The Fight of the Century when the two step in the ring for the first time.Comment -
