Could Bradley Cooper be the Big Money Upset at the Oscars? 25-1 Odds (+2500)
So I want to point out something that just hasn't been talked about enough on this forum. Who is most likely to be the big money upset at the Oscars?

My money is on Bradley Cooper for the Best Actor Category. What's not to love about this guy? (Besides his perfect baby blue eyes and charmer smile) Everyone has gotten sooooo hyped up over American Sniper and the political themes surrounding it - not to mention bringing in $306.5 Million bucks since it's release just a few months ago....

ok, ok I'll stop blabbering on about my love for Bradley Cooper.

Should we expect a surprise from this hottie?

I've seen a few places around the web that seem to think it's possible. One reason being that he hasn't yet been on a ballot with the other actors that are considered the favorites. Another reason I've see is that "he’s the most overdue". Of the 20 other actors who have ever received three consecutive (or more) Oscar nominations, 60% won in the first three years.

Negatively, since the SAG Awards started in 1994, an actor has never won the Oscar for best actor without a SAG nomination- he didn't get a SAG nomination.

No upsets at all this year. Maybe Linklater for director, but doubt it.

Redmayne, Moore, Simmons, and Arquette are winning the acting awards.

It's actually quite amazing what he did to his body to make the character play out. Not sure if it's worth a stab unfortunately, but I hope he wins.

Not Happening, there will be no upsets as someone already pointed out, Oscar's are REALLY easy to predict once it's oscar week.

Yeah usually they are... but how can you predict how a film will do if it wasn't even released in time to compete for previous awards? This movie is all anyone can talk about.

Moore really looks like the lock for best actress. But I would really love to take a stab on the Rosamund Pike odds. No? She's awesome in Gone Girl.

But maybe the Obama administration will have a say in all this. Will Bradley Cooper or American Sniper take wins to reiterate how important war is? Could there be a higher power at work to convince us our taxes are being used for the right reasons?

Arquette, Simmons and Moore are the only lock. Best Actor is wide open imo. Keaton or Cooper +EV

I do like the idea of Cooper vs Keaton... it's the Hollywood pretty boy sweetheart vs. Hollywood old guy back in the game for one last round

I'd love to see Keaton take it... he's been around the block enough and really deserves it

Cooper does a fantastic job but its not a "showy" award winning type performance.

Play handicapped, gay etc - thats Oscar bait.

I'm not really a movie guy.... but ever since Wedding Crashers (2005) he's done well in a lot of his films. I give the guy credit... he's a good actor.

Everyone talking about the transformation that Cooper made and how he could be the darkhorse. I know the academy loves him .. but to me the best performance of the year by far was the one that is currently getting zero hype. Carrell! he was phenomenal, scary, and unrecognizable as John Dupont. The way he nailed Duponts stuttered speech and blank stares was near perfect as compared to interviews I've seen of the real man.. Bradley just looked like he was packing a dip in his jaw and had a one note character with approximately 0 mystery to him.
