Chicago Little League Team Under Investigation

The Chicago-based team that knocked Philadelphia's Taney Dragons out of the Little League World Series - and went on to become the U.S. champs - is under investigation, ESPN reports.

The investigation centers on whether the team, Jackie Robinson West, used players who live outside the team's geographic area.

I would think that this kind of thing would be common in Little League. Kind of hard to vent each player, and their location, before tournament play. Need to find a better way of controlling this, instead of potentially taking a title away from little kids.

HS football head coaches get the super talented kids just outside the district, have them 'transfer' to their HS, set up a dummy bedroom for the kid in the coaches house.....

I grew up in NJ, NJ HS football is king, just like in Oklahoma and Texas and Florida.
Union (NJ) when I went to school in the 80's were not just state powers, but national powerhouse, the Union coach did that every season.

Yeah...lived there until I graduated high school...people are sensitive who live there because the stadium is actually in South Williamsport, PA not Williamsport...they're two separate cities. I used to sit on the large hill out in left field and sit in a cardboard box and ride down the hill and crash into the left-field fence....they still do that dumbass tradition

Little League Baseball has stripped the U.S. championship from the Chicago-based Jackie Robinson West team and has suspended the coach for violating a rule prohibiting the use of players who live outside the geographic area that the team represents, it was announced Wednesday.

The Jackie Robinson West team, the first all-African-American team to win the championship, must vacate wins from the 2014 Little League Baseball International Tournament -- including its Great Lakes Regional and United States championships.

The team's manager, Darold Butler, has been suspended from Little League activity, and Illinois District 4 Administrator Michael Kelly has been removed from his position.

if you had asked me the odds on creating a team of 12 year old blacks using ALL of chicago, that made it as far as regionals I'd say it was 500-1 against being able to go that.

fuk the cheating coaches, but kudos for getting a roster of 12 year old negroes that knew which hand to put the glove on, put down the b-ball, stop dreaming about bring a rapper, and cut down on smoking weed in the summer

yeah, this thing is pretty unfortuate for the kids involved. i mean these kids in chicago don't have many (if any) positive activities they can participate in.
