You cannot blame Wilson for that pass/play. He threw the ball exactly where it should have been thrown. The receiver made a poor attempt at catching it, most likely because he thought he'd be wide open from the pick. Butler jumped on it but in most cases it would be a pass interference but the ball somehow slid into his hands and he caught it. Most DB's aren't making that interception. Excellent play by Butler seeing that play and being able to jump on it. That INT was not on Wilson. He didn't have time to see the play develop. It's a quick slant that he just throws. If they score a TD, no one questions the call.
BUT, in that spot it had to be the worst play call ever in a Superbowl. You should run the ball if only so that NE has to burn another timeout if you don't score. There was still plenty of time on the clock for NE to come back with a FG. Add the fact that NE couldn't stop Marshawn and that was horrible. That call came from Pete not Wilson, I can guarantee it.

Pavy - rewatch the play. Butler is 5 yards off the line of scrimmage. It's a pick play, so you don't expect the DB to jump the quick route. It looks like an easy slant for a TD. The QB doesn't have any time to see a guy covered. Everyone is covered on the goal line. It's a pitch and catch. You just grip it and rip it to your receiver.
