Like I said, I'm willing to bet. I offered 25/1, which is pretty generous. No takers.

MLB network was saying if the Cubs really want to go for it all this season they need to break camp with their best possible team on the field for opening day.

This means Kris Bryant needs to be the opening day 3rd basemen and i def agree with that.

Olt and LaStella are nothing special. Even if Bryant struggles early on he needs to get big league experience early in the season so he can progress as the season goes along.

                  not really

its so they can assure themselves that they keep Bryant for 7 seasons instead of just 6

a year of control is much more than money, although it includes money

9 games, that is how much they need to hold off on having Bryant up in the Big Leagues to gain an additional year of control

I guess if you think that Bryants war will be like 18.0, you might argue that not having Bryant on the roster will cost the Cubs 1 game in the standings.

And 3 in the top 13. And it doesn't include Baez or Alcantara because they played a couple months last season. Everyone laughs and jokes about the Cubs, but Theo has the org, moving in the right direction and they will be a force very soon, if not this season.

It's a delicate situation for sure. For his part, Bryant is saying all the right things and should handle it either way with class. But if he pounds the ball in ST it's going to be hard to explain why he doesn't make the opening day roster, without out and out admitting that it's for service time/money reasons.

Not likely. Not enough chance for production. Probably Bryant.
