Terrible Newbie Odds Question

I feel like a moron right now but if I place a 1 unit bet on odds at +250 I would receive back 3.5 units for a total profit of 2.5 units, right? I've been gone for a while and I'm testing a betting strategy and I want to make sure I'm not over-stating any possible underdog winnings.

Don't second guess yourself you are correct.

Odds are based off a $100 bet.

if odds are +250 you bet $100 you win $250.

if odds are -300 that means you have to put down $300 in order to win a $100 .

This is why many frown upon Brock Landers bc he likes these -300 type plays and all it takes is for a couple of these -300 type bets to lose and you will destroy your bankroll.

correct. $100 wager at +250 would be a profit of $250 and getting back your original $100

anytime you see +250 that means your going to get $2.50 for every $1 bet plus that $1 bet back so a total of $3.50
