#213for the same reason every team does every bit as much gray area stepping as the pats... what im sick of is the media feeding cry babies in a witch hunt over some shit every team does in one form or another. the successful ones anyways.. this the real world with lots at stake, if you aint doing everything in your power to stay on top shame on you, grow up.
However, when you get caught, you gotta pay the piper, it's just part of the deal and always has been.....A repeat offender deserves to be hammered in anything
If you wanna let someone slip for a 2nd infraction, why even bother to have rules?Comment -

#214I'm all good with people over-stepping the laws and rules.....I'm not naive to think that no one else is looking for an edge

#215People are still talking about this? Good grief. If anything, it's an off-season rules issue. 15 yard penalty at best.Comment -

The thing is the Patriots cant come out now and say we knew it was only a 15 yd penalty because the public perception of saying yes we did it knowing its a 15 yd penalty but we didnt think we would get caught actually will come across far worse than being busted in the denial game because of the implication of how underhanded it makes them look
i think they needed to make sure there was no contradictory video to come out after the fact after they deny it.
this is the frickin superbowl and a coach who never crossed the line would be irate about all the lost time and kill this day one . At least i would be
instead its dragged out for an entire week and he hasnt hardly raised his voice.. NE brought this on themselves and failed to put out the fire...
the timing of this being so close to the eligible/ineligible receiver issue is going to have Mort and Shefter scrutinizing the rule book to see what else the team can be walking a fine line on..
I have no issue with the receiver reporting plays..In fact I think that was brilliant coaching....but we've gone from brilliant coaching to lets see if we get caught..
Patriot fans will say i'm assuming they are guilty, but they have their heart and emotion rendering them incapable of unbiased opinion. Until a legitimate reason can be brought forward explaining how their balls lost air while indy didnt, the actions from the ne side have done nothing to indicate this was unintentional or a fluke
the other issue the patriot nation wont get over is the final score and the second half pt diff....no ones questioning the outcome yet patriot fans keep defending the allegations with "it didnt matter" anyway... You're right it didnt but because their actions didnt change the outcome doesnt make them right.Comment -

#219yea weird. and all this time i thought they were gonna give you crying pussies some truth you feel entitled to
it no wonder why the nfl has become a joke, look no further than the fans of the sport..
next time you get a sack of weed, drink a few beers and drive, oh hell in case you one of those self righteous assholes that think you do nothing illegal lets say next time you take or place a illegal wager you should march your self righteous ass directly to the police station with a signed confession in hand..Comment -

#220i would agree it should be a non story but the fact it took a full week for the coach and qb to address questions about it means there is merit especially for as slacker indicated something punishable by a piddly 15 yd penalty

#222Pats like their footballs set at 12.5. Weather reduced PSI by 1 pound. Colts balls were 13.5. Losing 1 pound would keep them within tolerance. Non story. The NFL created this mess. Just another reason why goodell needs to go.Comment -

#225Another reason they're guilty.....If they were being falsely accused they would have come out initially and been like "I want to get to the bottom of this" and been pissed off....I would really want to know how this happened
They basically played the ignorance card and never once seemed upset about how this could have happened, just were in defense mode trying to lay off the blame.....
Oh well, New England fans believe what they want and the rest of the country can believe what they want as well.....Will be interesting to see what the conclusion isComment -

#228Kevin Murphy ,who runs american football division at Wilson, said despite reports of cold weather or a player spiking the ball would lead to deflation, the only way to remove that much air that quickly would be to out a needle in the valve and let the air seep out
Wilson, he said, goes to great lengths to ensure balls do not leak even in extreme heat or cold and every ball has a special 3 ply urethan bladderComment -
