NFL Player News - Week of January 12th
PIT - Dick LeBeau leaving team

Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - Ed Bouchette

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau has parted ways with the team, according to the Urbana Daily Citizen in Ohio.

It's sad to see the end of an era in Pittsburgh. LeBeau is already in the Hall of Fame because of his playing career. We think he should also go in as a defensive coordinator. His zone-blitz schemes have been revolutionary and shaped the game incredibly. He may not be done coaching, although there were rumors about LeBeau retiring after the 2014 season. Stay tuned.

SEA - QB Russell Wilson to be highest-paid QB

    Source: NFL.com - Chris Wesseling

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is expected to become the NFL's highest -paid quarterback this offseason when the team signs him to a long-term extension.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wilson has certainly outplayed his contract to this point. He was a third-round pick by the Seahawks in the 2012 NFL draft, and Wilson was among the lowest paid players at his position. It's great to see his hard work is going to lead to a big payday.

KC - WR LaVon Brazill, WR Joe Morgan worked out

    Source: ESPN - Adam Caplan

Free-agent WR LaVon Brazill (Colts) and WR Joe Morgan (Saints) worked out for the Kansas City Chiefs Thursday, Jan. 8.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brazill has good speed to get down the field, but his time with the Colts was a disappointment. Morgan was always a tease with the Saints because of his size/speed combination, but he's never produced consistently. Both are only worth monitoring in super deep dynasty leagues.

PIT - No surgery for QB Ben Roethlisberger

    Source: ESPN.com - Scott Brown

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (knee) will not need surgery on his knee this offseason and should be able to have a normal offseason, according to his agent.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for Roethlisberger here. Expect the Steelers QB to continue performing at a high level for both the Steelers and for fantasy owners.

MIA - WR Mike Wallace's status for 2015 uncertain

Source: South Florida Sun-Sentinel - Omar Kelly

Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace's roster spot could be in jeopardy next season, because he is scheduled to make $9.9 million in 2015 with $3 million of the salary becoming guaranteed in the first week of March.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

You just had a feeling after his cap number was $17 million in 2014, Wallace might not be on the roster unless he had an outstanding year. Having 67 catches for 862 yards is not outstanding...although the 10 receiving touchdowns in 2014 was nice. Executive vice president of football operations Mike Tannenbaum said the team will make the most responsible decision for them on Wallace.
