You are asking the same question different ways. As you have no showed previous bashes, and as of now are still waiting for a passport to arrive, it is not a certainty that you can make the trip even though we appreciate that you intend to.

Once you receive your passport, we can take a look. But until you've got the passport, we cannot commit to a room in your name. And I would advise you not to book international travel when it is unknown if you will be in possession of a passport.

Yeah there's a thing that you buy once you get to the DR airport for like $10 or $20 that allows you stay in the country. Their equivalent of a tourist v---------isa. Same thing like when you show up to Thailand or whatever and you get off the plane and some dude speaking very little English tells you at customs you pay $10 or you don't come in. It's not a scam... it's just a slightly odd way of doing it.

haha yeah it does sound kind of dodgy but it's really not. It's just the same as people from certain countries who have to arrange their tourist visas for the US or Australia. Difference is those countries make you do it beforehand whereas some of these Latin-y/Asian ones let you do it once you get there. So really, their system is actually more convenient and travel friendly. It's just not what we're used to. Plus If we were from one of their 'sister' countries we wouldn't have to pay this shit but alas, we're not.

On another note, after Boner's freakout earlier about his passport I checked the expiry date on mine and it's Feb 8, 2015.

And my US one is somewhere in this house or garage and I have zero hope of finding it so no chance of using that.

Today was a bit crazy to say the least once I realised that!!!

However, I can book a flight by Thursday, to show my commitment to this trip, but sbr needs to guarantee me a room because, I cant afford to cash out for those two days, and that the truth. Also once I used the flight credit, I don't know if theyll refund my ticket either, Not sure on the rules on that.

I do have the reciept of the date of the my passport renewal, I can send it through the pm if you guys want. It was sent last week though 1 day delivery, and it will be sent back to me by 1 day delivery. California Passport renewal expedite takes two weeks. So i know I am getting my passport, therefore I am comfortable booking my flight on Thursday. But I need Sbr to confirm that there is still a room for me.

The thing is, SBR will be on the line for $1k plus for you - or anyone else - who doesn't show. This isn't like the Vegas bash. It's bad enough you and others bailed on that but the cost of that per person was peanuts in comparison to this one. That money is better spent on giving me a f'n raise or at least spreading it around to those who DO show each time.

You've dinked them around the last time and now again this time. Seriously no one is going to give you the benefit of the doubt or vouch for $1k+ plus for you now. You just need to get your shit sorted and if you do, I'm sure they'll be able to get something worked out. But without your flight itinerary and passport - SBR is not going to trust you to show up this time when you couldn't even make it to fricken Vegas and didn't even give us a heads up.

Get your stuff done and things will work out. Until then - no more reason for drama.

I can't. The embassy here takes 20 working days and there isn't an expedited option unless it's an emergency which this isn't. Based on all the fricken people I talked to yesterday about this disaster, it should be ok though.

It's definitely worth the travel! Look at how much I'm traveling to get there! This is your chance to stay at this amazing resort for free, you don't even have to spend a dime on food or bevvies and you might even win $ in the poker tournament so you come out AHEAD. It's a win win.

Gotta pay to play. Citizens of some countries can't get in places no matter how much money they have. The US passport is the most badass, though. Worst case scenario, you've gotta buy a ****. China is around $150, but once you get in you're living like a king!

Private rides are anywhere from $120 to $300 and taxis I think I saw for $70 or $75 roughly
