And BTW, Brock, the fact that you think Rayvonte Rice is Illinois' best player is the problem with you in a nutshell. For everything he does "well" on the surface, he's a - player. I suppose you think Josh Smith was the Pistons' best player, too? Stats aren't everything. Rice is a ball hog and a black hole for this lineup.
you are out of your fuckin mind
He is the 1st, 2nd and 3rd best option on the team

By the line the player loss means nothing to odds makers
Oddsmakers love Illini here and strong

I'll tell you what
Ken Pom had the number Maryland -2 BEFORE the injury, i was looking at the upcoming schedule on Saturday before he was injured.
That # was never adjusted and they stick with Ken Pom almost exclusively

Hmmm
And Illinois has been garbage with him in the lineup.
We'll see what happens without him tonight. I honestly think they'll be just as good as they'd be with him on the court.

No, he's not. But thanks for playing.
We'll see tonight. Like I said, I think they're every bit the same team with him on the bench, if not better.

Exactly you fvcking dummy.
Maryland was -2, Rice is out, now they're -1.5. Shows what books think of Rice, given all of the "he's the 1st, 2nd and 3rd best option on the team" nonsense.
Rice plays zero D. None. Expect Illinois to be better defensively tonight than they have been all season.

Oh by the way boys, since Rice is out, the Illini guy guarding 6'3" Melo is a kid that is 5'9" oregon state transfer.

Big Illini fan here. They have a lot of talent but have shown time and time again this season they cannot put it together. And with Rice out (who is an excellent defender as well as scorer), it will only get worse. Maryland wins this game easy. It pains me to take Maryland -3 @ +120 (I'm taking an alternate line because -1.5 is too easy)... but money does not have feelings.

Yes. Ray Rice is an excellent defender. I used to think he was a poor defender as well until the brothas I work with at the U of I actually showed me the stats and videos to prove me wrong. But no sense in arguing. We will all see that defensive void tonight when Maryland easily beats Illinois.

The fact that the line has moved in Illinois' favor without Rice being in the lineup speaks volumes.
If Rice was so great, Illinois wouldn't be 10-5 right now and Maryland would be about -4.

Illinois is 10-5 right now because "big man" Egwu hacks himself out of every game and Rice's surrounding cast (Hill and Nunn) are average. I understand your wishful thinking but I have been attending U of I games since I was 5 years old. I know this team better than anyone on this forum and they do not win tonight. Plain and simple.

I hate to sound like Teddy Covers but sharps play the number, squares play the team. Getting +3 was pretty good regardless of this national collegiate athletic association contest. I find it very Dwayne Johnson eyebrow that he saw this and pulled the trigger in that magical window of time but none -the- less it was a good play.
Now back to arguing about a guy thats injured.

I'm rolling with Illinois +3 -105 for 4 units and the moneyline +120 for 2 units.
LOL this moron doesn't even know Rice broke his hand.

Do you even know who Rayvonte Rice is?
There's a reason Maryland went from -2 to PK despite the fact that Rice was out.

Big deal. There's hundreds of teams in the country. I can't keep up with some fluke injury that didn't even occur during a game.

I've watched Rice enough through the years to know he has no interest in playing team ball or anything other than himself.
As for Josh Smith, I won't even say a word. Look at the Pistons now.
