If you havent seen this movie I highly recommend, but, this dude played Stephen Hawking in "Theory of Everything" and nailed it. No way he doesn't win!!

In terms of acting the shear physical difficulty, facial contortions etc along with the voicing and acting to portray someone progressively suffering from ALS pales in comparison to mimicking someone's voice and mannerisms. I haven't seen anything like it since Daniel day Lewis painted with his left foot while speaking out the side of his mouth.

As for handing out awards to equalize racial disparities it is a great tactic to denigrate another person's achievement. I find it ironic you make it in reference to a film about MLK. I didn't come here to get into a racial discussion but seems now you have without a shred of proof anyone has previously won the award based on ethnicity(all races included).

I am sure the sbr bunch I've seen time and again will come to contribute their usual stereotypical remarks now that the window of opportunity has presented itself. Just know I've seen both movies and if I had a choice I chose the Hawking depiction but there's no disputing MLKs impact on society carries a lot of weight similarly to Ben King who played Ghandi and last year DD Lewis as Lincoln. But to say this guy will win based on his ethnicity is completely unfounded and I can only presume you have a lot of personal insecurities to deal with.

Redmayne wins Golden Globe for Drama.

Keaton also wins Golden Globe for musical/comedy

Academy awards there can only be one

                Keaton -150
                Redmayne +110

Admittedly haven't seen Birdman yet but I think there is some value here on Redmayne

                  Heritage has Redmayne +105

What other books have it? I don't see betting at Pinnacle or 5 Dimes.

FWIW, Redmayne is like -300 to win the BAFTA for Best Actor

Keaton is the second favorite for that.

Not sure how BAFTA has compared to the Oscars in terms of what wins what.

I'm just bumping this up cause he's basically swept the awards show thus far and I don't see much changing. The price is -150 for the Oscars so seems like a sweet deal to me.

His chances are looking really good for this one. He already scored Best Actor at Golden Globes and SAG awards boosting his chances of a win at the Academy Awards to almost 80%.

What did you guys think about Michael Keaton's performance? I personally don't think it was Oscar Award worthy... the director, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu just gave him excellent direction.

I'm with you on that one. Especially with the history of the Oscars. Since 2000, 10-out-of-13 of the films won have been dramas and since 2008, 5-out-of-6 of the films that won have had historical relevance. A story about the great Stephen Hawking has Oscars written all over it.... it will be no surprise if we see the man who portrayed such a challenging role take home the Academy Award as well.

... plus how can you disappoint this face??

Haven't seen either movie yet, but I read that Hawking himself said the actor did such an excellent job that he thought it was himself at times lol
