Yep, this is why the Lions lost, whether people want to admit it or not. Caldwell has no stones to make any tough decisions that decide games... way too conservative. Even when they lined up on 4th and 1, I wasn't fooled. I told my buddy "they won't snap it, watch... Caldwell is too much of a pussy."

Caldwell neutered Andrew Luck last year with his conservative BS and look at Andy Luck tearing the up the league now without the shackles.

Caldwell sucks, he's a termination waiting to happen.

I Don't think he got fired in Indy because he was a bad coach...Manning being out for the whole season and the Colts taking a dive to get Andrew Luck made him the sacrificial lamb....a lot of guys serving him up in here as a clown because he lost today...but he didn't make some of the mistakes or penalties that happened

You have no idea what you're talking about....Caldwell has never coached Luck...he was in Baltimore

You're right, my bad... but my point still stands. Caldwell is one of these guys that refuses to make a call that could, if it doesn't work out, make him a target of criticism in the post game pressers. As a result, he rarely takes any chances.

This is a fvcking game... There's a time to play by the book, at there's a time to take the bull by the horns. No risk, no reward.

Now you may want to go and look at Flacco's numbers...he might of screwed him up...because Kubiak went in there this year and there's probably a difference I'm sure

Nope, I wouldn't have called him stupid. I think most people, given the circumstances, would understand the call.

As a coach, you have be bold sometimes, and also have to have that innate sense when the momentum is beginning to swing. The game, at that point, was beginning to favor the Cowboys. Caldwell had a chance to regain some of the "mo" by keeping a drive alive, one that would most likely have resulted in at least a FG attempt. But he crawled into a shell, and played right into the hands of the Cowboys, and Dallas went in for the kill.

We're talking one yard here... Not like anybody would have crucified him if it failed. I'll take my chances with a team needing to gain a yard, versus a team needing to stop a yard gained, any day of the week. It's not like Dallas has some Hall-of-Fame caliber defensive line or anything.

Basketball analogy: Caldwell had the ball in his hands, with the game on the line and an open look at the basket, and he passed the it... That's what losers do.

Yes and No....Flacco's numbers were much worse under Caldwell in many areas from Int's to ratings etc. so yeah he won a ring (might of had something to do with Harbaugh and the defense a tad...and not Caldwell as much...maybe?)
