If both Dallas and Seattle finish at 12-4, why doesn't Dallas get home field throughout the playoffs. I thought head to head is the first rule to a tie-breaker, which would give the Dallas the edge over Seattle?

If it is a 3-way tie you can only use head-to-head if you beat both the other teams. Dallas beat Seattle but not Detroit or Green Bay so you go to the next tiebreaker, conference record - and Dallas is last out of all those teams.
The only way Dallas gets a bye is if Seattle beats Arizona tonight and then they both lose next week (barring a tie in GB-Detroit).Comment -

Not true. Head to head is always first but, as I mentioned above, you have to have beaten (or lost to) everybody you are tied with. Dallas didn't play GB or Detroit this year so you can't use head to head in any tie breaking scenario.Originally posted by stealthyburritoComment -

Dallas seems locked in as 3 seed. Won't get home field over Seattle because of THREE-WAY tie with NFC North Winner. If it is Detroit, they did not play Seattle so head-to-head goes out. If it is Green Bay, then Seattle split vs. Green Bay and Dallas and Dallas did not play Green Bay so again head-to-head goes out.Comment -
