Finally just couldn't handle waking up dopesick every day.. a lot of junkies get consumed with just trying to score and the whole cycle of it. But if you're a functioning member of society, I think at some point everyone breaks. I guess I just broke. Couldn't keep going anymore.

Instead of selling the last of my things and living on the street I decided to take my ass to the methadone clinic. Best decision I ever made. Saved my life.

Yea I am a "functioning" addict if there is such a thing. I work 10 hrs a day and always pay my bills before I get anything but I'm about sick of being sick.

I want to try the clinic but I heard that coming off of that is worse than coming off opiates.

Yeah, I'll be the first to tell you coming off Methadone is a nightmare. I haven't been able to do it. It'll take me at least 2 years to taper off of my current dose of 123mg/day.

But I'm not waking up sick every day now. I don't deal with the stress of having enough dope just to be able to go to work the next day. That was the part that was destroying my sanity, more than anything. Being a junkie takes a lot of time and effort.

under normal circumstances I would agree. it's when I'm in a position where I actually need the money that I don't want to have to do it. would rather keep my unit size up while I'm winning at a higher percentage than I normally do. I saw my local yesterday and got a nice little payout so it's over now..

hopefully less-experienced gamblers can take something from this thread about money management. that was my singular reason for even mentioning it. just trying to contribute to the learning/thinking culture here. I'm willing to take the good with the bad (trolls & general scumfukcs) because I genuinely believe that most of you guys are here to learn how to be more profitable. alas, I still hope that some of you guys are featured in a 3 guys 1 hammer style montage ASAP..
