The shot was to the jaw. I just don't see him missing the 2nd half. I think they sent him to the locker room early not expecting to get the ball back with any significant amount of time. Then when SD went 3-and-out they couldn't exactly rush Manning back on.

I saw the replay... looked like a regular block Manning tried to apply... and someone gave him just a regular hit... almost soft in a way... then he went to the locker room. Don't know if his throwing shoulder jammed.... or a bruised sternum?
