    Bryce Harper missed fan event
"The Major League Baseball Players Association has filed a grievance on Harper's behalf over whether he should be able to void the 2015 terms in the final season of a $9.9 million, five-year contract he signed when drafted. An arbitrator hearing could happen Tuesday if the case isn't settled." From espn

In a statement emailed by one of his agent's employees, Harper said: "I have attended NatsFest each year and always enjoy my experience with the fans, but was unable to attend this year's event due to matters out of my control. I look forward to next year's NatsFest."

There is so much stupid Sh@t posted on SBR every day and you think this thread is bad? What didn't you like about the thread? No air bets? No insults directed at other members of the forum? No spelling errors?

Good post broadway, and good luck today to you and everyone else.

he does not have a natural swing which will make him never have big numbers

so not showing up bc he wants to be a free agent a year earlier than he is supposed to is talking shit? The guy isn't asking for more money, he wants to leave the team. Stellar guy just like you big bear.

wtf kid is not even 25 yet. Did you not see how clutch he was in the playoffs?

if the rest of the Nationals had come to play like Harper did they would have won the world series!

Teams can't void the big contracts they sign that go bust

                          why should a player ?

kid should be happy he had a real contract early and a huge signing bonus and was rich before playing 1 game of pro ball.

he never had to go through the major league minimum days and he should be able to sign 2 huge 6 year deals in his career and maybe a smaller deal as he is closer to retirement...... If he stops running into walls

with Bryce Harper though i really do think that he loves playing baseball.
he is not the type of player to get a big contract and then stop working hard like say Julius Peppers did with the Carolina Panthers....

I was not implying that he wouldn't still perform

but it is a complete dick move to pull a hissy fit and try to do an NFL player-like hold out, because he doesn't like the terms of a contract he SIGNED!

you made an agreement, stick to it, its one more year douche bag

I'm with you Broadway. It is a big local story and the fans, those people that buy his jersey and help make his salary what it is and will be, get snubbed.

There are plenty of ways to get your point across without pulling a no show when tons of kids went there to see him.

                                    Shameful if you ask me.

                                      He was phenomenal against sf.

Either way he hasn't earned free agent type money. Odds are he'll stay but he needs to produce and be healthy for a full season.

Production I don't think would be an issue, but he just can't stay healthy.

When it came to the solo hr's he was great, but when it came to that clutch hit with men on base he would very rarely show up.
