#18Not long ago... Sammy got $4K from a mid-size book - said they could not do Bank Transfer for the full amount
Settled on 1K P2P every 7-10 days
Sammy caught heat from P2P people... On the last payment had to go 3 different places to get it. A shady liquor storeComment -

#21I had a 2500 dollar check. The bank sent it to be verified and after they finished with it being from Canada it was even less than 2500. Don't do a check unless it is from an american bank. The exchange rate or something caused me not to get the full amount of the check. BummerComment -

#29It's good to know a "branch manager" or someone at your bank. So that you could talk to them... and explain to them not to charge you any fees etc... when cashing these checks. Basically, my take on this Canadian currency thing... it's just another way for a US bank to make more $ off of you. I've gone to several banks and told them I receive Canadian checks here and there... what can you do for me?? 4 out of 5 banks told me... SORRY... can't help you. This one bank goes... we're willing to work with you. I said... NO BS... can you help me out? He said... if they charge you any fees... I'll remove them. Cut the story short... cashed 3 checks... No fees. No currency exchange rate... and not to mention.. money clears in one business day.Originally posted by seaborneqI had a 2500 dollar check. So like I said... negotiate with these banks. Don't be afraid because you have a canadian check that you're doing something wrong. Business is done in many currencies every single day. F the US bank if they won't help you... there's one bank that will. Tony Montana said so.Comment -
