I remember placing 7k bet on Indy vs Jacksonville back in 2006 maybe when they were favs to the Jags and lost the bet. Wired the money today and will be placing 10k bet on the lions. Historically QBs who have had kids born a week before their next game, are horribly bad. Stanton and his wife just had a baby and congrats to them. Stanton is a Michigan State boy and this is the only reason I was pondering going back and forth on if I wanted to do this or not but I can't see lions losing this game! Lions are locked in and on a mission this year! The only thing that scares me is when Joey Harrington left the lions and went to the fins, he came back and stomped the lions! All in all I think the Lions win and win BIG! Good luck to all!

this is a very tough game and I do not like your angle on the game (Stanton/kid)
Stanton looks like a stud. The Arizona defense is great, at home, and is there any other "top level" quarterback that you hold your breath with more than when Stafford throws the ball? the dude can be a reckless gunslinger
and I actually like Stanton more than Palmer
I would take Detroit if I had a gun to my head, but not even close to the amount you are risking
I really hope this amount if lost does not cripple your personal life. If so, back out of the bet (if not already placed) and lower the stakes man

This is one of those games where everything is screaming LIONS LIONS LIONS but i have a horrible feeling that arizona is going to win it. The books want you to take the lions here. although i think it wont be as lop sided in terms of % on each side. Arizona is 8-1 afterall.

Detroit is an awful road team. Stanton not too much of a downgrade from Carson Palmer, if at all. Zona defense is legit and they crush teams in the 4th quarter. If anything this game is a coin flip, better options on the board. Good luck broComment -
I love it when people say things like "the books want you to take...." as if they have a freaking clue what goes on at Vegas headquarters when the lines debut each week. These are the same people that throw buzzwords like "trap" or "fishy" around when they look at the odds and can't make sense of it.
Unless you have a special phone-line to the Vegas war room, where odds are set, and some insider is inexplicably willing to spill all their secrets to you, don't tell me what "Vegas wants." I'm sure if Vegas wanted all of us to unload on the Lions, they'd give us more than a point or two. In fact, as of this post, the spread has moved to a pick'em.... Yeah, they're trying really hard to get us on the Lions.
The spread is what it is... nothing more. Bet who you like to cover. If you can't figure it out, move along.
I could just as easily say that Vegas wants you to take the Cards. Think about it... you get the home team who is 8-1 and facing a one dimensional dome team who lost to the Panthers on the road and nearly lost to the punchless Falcons as well. Sure, Palmer is out, but Stanton has three starts this year under his belt, including a win over the 49ers... and the Cards aren't laying any points?

All bullshit aside, I like the Lions here a lot. The Cardinals have had some close shaves, including last week's misleading final score. Even with Palmer in the lineup, the Cardinals have sputtered on offense more than you'd expect from a team with as many weapons as they have, and facing an improved Lions D won't be any picnic. Furthermore, the Cards pass defense hasn't been up to snuff and will face a potent attack who have their All-World receiver back in the fold.
