HOU - QB Ryan Mallett named starting QB
Source: Houston Chronicle - Brian T. Smith
Houston Texans QB Ryan Mallett has been named the team's starting quarterback moving forward.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The team made the move to add Mallett for a reason. Ryan Fitzpatrick has been largely a disappointment at quarterback this year, so it was only a matter of time before the Texans looked to make a move. Mallett has a rocket arm, so expect him to launch plenty of deep targets for DeAndre Hopkins and Andre Johnson. We'll see if he's improved his accuracy problems on short and underneath/intermediate passes.

DET - WR Calvin Johnson says he will play
Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett
Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson (ankle) said he is close to 100 percent and expects to play in Week 10.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Yes! Fantasy owners have been waiting patiently for Johnson to return to the field. Upon his return, fantasy expectations should be dialed back just a bit...but we still believe Johnson could perform like a WR1 against the Dolphins in Week 10. His return makes Golden Tate more of a WR2 with upside.

DAL - QB Tony Romo sitting Wednesday
Source: Fort Worth Star-Telegram - Clarence E. Hill Jr.
Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) didn't practice Wednesday, Nov. 5, and stayed back at the hotel for treatment, according to head coach Jason Garrett.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We see Romo as a game time decision for Sunday's game against the Jaguars in London. Check back to see if he can practice on Friday. If Romo doesn't play, then we'll see Brandon Weeden as their starter.

DET - WR Calvin Johnson a full go
    Source: DetroitLions.com
Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson (ankle) practiced in full Wednesday, Nov. 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Fantastic news here. Johnson should be a WR1 for your fantasy team again now that he's healthy. Golden Tate's fantasy value dips slightly, but we still like him as a WR2 with upside now that it looks like Johnson is back.

CLE - TE Jordan Cameron ruled out
Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot
Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron (concussion) is officially out for Week 10.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
No surprise here. It's a short week for the Browns as they play the Bengals on Thursday night.

BUF - WR Sammy Watkins getting MRI
    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills WR Sammy Watkins (groin) will undergo a precautionary MRI on his injured groin. However, the team does not believe the injury to be serious, according to a source.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Fantasy owners have their fingers crossed right now. Watkins has been a revelation for the Bills, and he's been putting up nice numbers most weeks. Check back to see if he can practice later in the week.

CIN - RB Giovani Bernard listed as doubtful
    Source: Bengals.com
Cincinnati Bengals RB Giovani Bernard (clavicle, hip) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 5, and is listed as doubtful for Week 10.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
He's not officially out....but he's out. The Bengals play on a short week against the Browns in Week 10, and it's best to rest Bernard. Rookie Jeremy Hill looked fantastic last week (over 150 yards rushing), and he should have a very strong day in Week 10.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers does all drills
    Source: Packers.com
Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (hamstring) practiced in full Wednesday, Nov. 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
That's a great sign for his availability. Start Rodgers as you normally would.

PHI - RB LeSean McCoy out with illness
Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane
Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy (illness) missed practice with an illness Wednesday, Nov. 5, but he should be back Thursday, Nov. 6, and ready to go for the team's Week 10 game against the Carolina Panthers Monday, Nov. 10.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We're not overly concerned here. Check back to see if McCoy is able to practice fully on Friday and Saturday. The Eagles play on Monday night against the Carolina Panthers.

MIN - Next steps in RB Adrian Peterson case
    Source: ESPN - Ed Werder
Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson still has many steps ahead of him before NFL commissioner Roger Goodell reinstates him after he reached a plea deal in his child abuse case, according to a league source. First, the NFL will examine the court documents and police reports of the case. The NFL will convene experts on domestic violence and domestic abuse. Next, the NFL will hold a hearing with Peterson and the NFLPA. It is possible there will be a direct meeting with Goodell and Peterson, unless Goodell appoints another hearing officer. Next, the NFL will consult with the Vikings and the union. Finally, the NFL will apply the personal conduct policy. There is no hurry, but there is also no delay in starting this process, according to a league source.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Many believe the NFL could reinstate Peterson in the near future with the stipulation that he pays back some of the salary he's made over the last eight weeks. If that happens, he goes back to being a RB1 for the Vikings. Add him now if you can afford to wait and have the bench space.

ARI - RB Andre Ellington limited in practice
    Source: AZCardinals.com
Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington (foot) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Nov. 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Ellington has been limited in quite a few practices this year. He should be good to go for Week 10 against the Rams.

KC - TE Travis Kelce practices in full
    Source: KCChiefs.com
Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce (ribs) practiced in full Wednesday, Nov. 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Fantasy owners with Kelce can breathe a sigh of relief here. We like him as a TE1 in a big game against the Bills in Week 10.

CLE - QB Brian Hoyer probable
    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com
Cleveland Browns QB Brian Hoyer (glute) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Nov. 5, and is probable for Week 10.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Hoyer is locked onto the starting job because the Browns are winning. We haven't seen much of rookie Johnny Manziel this year, and we may not see him much more if Hoyer continues to play good enough.

DEN - Full practice for WR Wes Welker
    Source: NFL
Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos WR Wes Welker (back) practiced in full Wednesday, Nov. 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Welker's fine, and he should be good to go against the Raiders in Week 10. With a reduced role this year, Welker is no more than a flex play for fantasy owners.

DEN - Juwan Thompson practices in full
    Source: NFL
Denver Broncos RB Juwan Thompson (knee) practiced in full Wednesday, Nov. 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Thompson should continue to serve as the primary backup behind Ronnie Hillman. In easy matchups (*cough* like the Raiders this week *cough*), Thompson is a 'what the heck' flex play with upside.

DEN - RB Montee Ball limited Wednesday
    Source: NFL
Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos RB Montee Ball (groin) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Nov. 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Ball will return to the lineup soon enough, but the team has no need to rush him back. Ronnie Hillman has looked better than Ball (so has Juwan Thompson and C.J. Anderson), so the Broncos should let him heal as much as possible. When Ball comes back, he may not be the starter like he was to begin this season.

PIT - TE Heath Miller sits
    Source: Steelers.com
Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (non-injury related) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This is likely just some veteran rest here.

NYJ - RB Chris Johnson fully practices
    Source: NewYorkJets.com
New York Jets RB Chris Johnson (ankle) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Nov. 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Johnson complained about his role in the offense, and he was fed the rock last week. We'll see if that can continue in Week 10 against the Steelers. It's difficult to trust Johnson, so consider him a low-end RB3/flex play so long as he's getting most of the touches at running back.

DET - Full practice for RB Reggie Bush
    Source: DetroitLions.com
Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) practiced in full Wednesday, Nov. 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This is a good sign for the veteran back. What's not a good sign is the reports that Detroit is still going to use Theo Riddick even when Bush is healthy. The Lions now have a three-headed RBBC.

NYJ - QB Michael Vick fully practices
    Source: NewYorkJets.com
New York Jets QB Michael Vick (foot) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Nov. 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Vick is going up against the injury-depleted Steelers defense in Week 10. You could do a lot worse if you're in need of a QB during a week where six teams are on bye.

MIA - TE Charles Clay limited during practice
Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett
Miami Dolphins TE Charles Clay (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
There are six teams on bye this week, so some of you out there may be considering Clay. We like him as a low-end TE1 in Week 10 in a tough matchup against the Lions.

MIA - RB Lamar Miller limited
Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett
Updating a previous report, Miami Dolphins RB Lamar Miller (shoulder) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Dolphins are wisely being careful here. Miller is a low-end RB2 since he's slightly banged up and facing a vicious Lions defense in Week 10.

CLE - WR Andrew Hawkins listed as questionable
Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot
Cleveland Browns WR Andrew Hawkins (thigh, knee) is questionable for Week 10.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
He's a game time decision for Thursday night's game against his former team, the Bengals. Fantasy owners likely have better options as a WR3/flex play out there--even if Hawkins plays.

DET - QB Matthew Stafford has become more patient
    Source: ESPN.com - Michael Rothstein
Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford said he's more comfortable than ever with his secondary options after playing a big chunk of this season without WR Calvin Johnson (ankle). 'The more experience and the better everybody else plays, the less you feel like you have to get 81 the ball, but it's still conducive to playing good offense to get the best receiver on the planet the ball as much as you can,' Stafford said. The Lions have also been without RBs Reggie Bush, Theo Riddick and Joique Bell and TEs Brandon Pettigrew, Eric Ebron and Joseph Fauria and OT LaAdrian Waddle. The result is a more patient Stafford.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Stafford had some growing up to do as a passer. He has certainly been productive during his pro career, but Stafford wasn't taking that next step as a pro. This season, he's done a better job with his pocket patience and passing mechanics. Johnson's return in Week 10 should allow for more of the secondary options like WR Golden Tate to see single coverage.

BUF - RB Fred Jackson limited
    Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown
Updating previous report, Buffalo Bills RB Fred Jackson (groin) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Jackson is going to give it the old college try, but there's no guarantee that he'll play on Sunday. The team won't rush him back, and if Jackson doesn't play we should see Anthony Dixon start for the Bills.

TB - RB Doug Martin sits
Source: Tampa Bay Times - Greg Auman
Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin (ankle) is not participating in practice Wednesday, Nov. 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This is not a good sign for Martin's availability in Week 10. We should see a combination of Bobby Rainey and rookie Charles Sims.

TB - WR Vincent Jackson does not practice
Source: Tampa Bay Times - Greg Auman
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This could just be a veteran day of rest. Monitor the practice report this week to see if he can get back out there on Thursday or Friday.

CHI - OLB Lance Briggs likely in final year
    Source: ESPNChicago.com - Michael C. Wright
Chicago Bears LB Lance Briggs (ribs) says that this is likely his last year with the team, as his contract is expiring at the end of this season. Briggs isn't expecting the team to offer him a new contract to keep him around.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
He's set to return in Week 10 after missing the last three weeks with a rib injury. Briggs is unsure if this will be the last year of his career.
