Im for it but the travel would be horrible for some players!
Would some of the players get refused entry because of there thuggish pasts?

hahaha, RIGHT...to my point...
i don't have any ill will towards europe, but the nfl is a huge american product and that's about all it will ever be. if there is a london team they will be the shittiest team in the league year in and year out. travel will be a major part, and also not being in an a part of the country where american football is a part of the culture will have an impact as well. that last part is more just a guess, but i feel like it's a good one.

It's stupid. We need supersonic jets to make a comeback before international leagues can become reality. Plus why does the NFL think they need to expand to London? I am sure there is one city in the US that would welcome an NFL team...........

It will happen and sooner than people think
Goddell wants to expand the game and London is the only option unless l.a wants a team
As for traveling it's only a 10 hr flight from the west coast

They don't deserve our sport over there. Let them stick to slide-tackling and pulling hair playing soccer like little women.
It's an awful idea no matter how you look at it. If you aren't in the USA then yeah, of course you want this to happen.
It never will though.

Goodell will not be running the NFL much longer IMO.
London is a longshot. No one will want to sign and play there. The teams they put out on the field will always be laughing stocks.

There was Vinny Jones back in the day (Sphinx from "Gone in 60 Seconds"), but since him, they've cracked down on a lot of that. Vinny Jones was like 160 pounds, but nobody messed with him. He was on Britain's version of American Gladiators, and beat the shit out of one of the gladiators.
There will be a team in England soon. There's not an increasing amount of games there just for the hell of it. Goddell already knows his legacy is going to be tarnished, he wants his one real claim to fame to be the commissioner that took the NFL international. He's been shooting for this ever since he took office.

Surely a Canadian team would be a more logical first international expansion.
At least they already play the sport there at a decent level.

As a Brit, I can't see it working out in the long-term as the novelty will wear off eventually.
One of the things you will notice at the London games at the moment is that there are fans of pretty much every team who will go to these games decked out in their own jerseys regardless of which teams are actually playing. These guys are NFL fan's and just happy to go to any game even if their team isn't playing.
If there was a team based in London full-time (lets say Jacksonville) then it doesn't mean that all these fans will suddenly become Jags fans. They will still support their own team and will go to some games, but over time the novelty will wear off.
As much as I would like to see it happen, realistically I can't see it working out and it would make much more sense to keep the teams in the US or Canada - or even Mexico - before makes sense to put one in London.

There might be a team in Mexico City before Europe.
Besides, American football fans don't have the whole "let's run through the towns and cities and kill the other teams fans and break shit" thing completely down yet. Although LA has made great strides in that department.

I don't follow NFL so I wouldn't really care but I wouldn't want an american sports franchise in London, even an NBA team as much as I love the NBA. It just doesn't make any sense. Sure it would be fun to attend 30 games a year or whatever but it would really impact the whole league negatively in my mind.

Pretty much the same with the NBA.
They give us an AWFUL game every year (Knicks/Pistons, Hawks/Nets, Knicks/Bucks...) yet I attend it anyway, because it's the only game they give us all year... I don't remember if I ever went there in a Mavs jersey but I might have one of the times.

I like having a couple games there a year but would never work with a permanent franchise cause of short weeks and playoffs. You cant host a playoff game overseas although any US team would go over there like Balboa in Rocky 4 on X-mas and still whoop some ass!! Not only that the Brits would start trying to implement rule changes and we arent standing for that.
