WAS - Robert Griffin very close to return
    Source: NFL.com - Conor Orr
Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) is 'very, very, very close' to returning to game action, according to head coach Jay Gruden. 'Physically I think he'll be ready to go. Doctors are feeling pretty good about it, they still want to feel around this week until we make the final determination. I just want to make sure he feels good in the pocket,'
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Should the team ride the hot hand of Colt McCoy? Washington wants to be very cautious with their franchise QB, so Griffin will get all the time he needs to properly heal. Gruden said they don't want to rush Griffin back too soon, so the evaluation of him could last another week.

DAL - QB Tony Romo undergoing MRI
    Source: ESPNDallas.com - Todd Archer
Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) will undergo an MRI exam Tuesday, Oct. 28, for a better look at his bruised back. X-rays came back negative Monday, Oct. 27, and he was able to return to the Week 8 game after taking a pain-killing shot. The team expects Romo to be ready to play the Arizona Cardinals in Week 9. He finished the game with 209 yards after going 17-for-28, and he was sacked a season-high five times.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Romo's back was already a concern for the team. Now they'll be watching even closer. This latest injury will only make him more a limited participant during the week of practice. The hope is that Romo should be able to continue playing with this less-than-100-percent back.

PHI - RB Darren Sproles fully practices
Source: Philadelphia Daily News - Les Bowen
Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles (knee) fully participated in practice Tuesday, Oct. 28. Sproles said he is hopeful to play this week, but is not sure of his status until he gets more practice in.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Sproles should be back out there for the Eagles in the near future. When he returns, the targets in the passing game will be distributed differently...and it will negatively impact the number of targets that secondary receivers like Riley Cooper sees.

NYG - RB Rashad Jennings not ready
Source: New York Post - Paul Schwartz
New York Giants RB Rashad Jennings (knee) is not ready to go for Week 9, according to head coach Tom Coughlin. Jennings said he is not able to make cuts yet and has been limited to linear running.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Some thought Jennings would be back after the team's bye week. Now, it looks like Jennings needs a little bit more time. This means rookie Andre Williams could be their lead back in the Week 9 game against the Colts on Monday night.

NO - RB Khiry Robinson doesn't practice
    Source: NFL
New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (forearm) did not practice Tuesday, Oct. 28.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It's a short week for the Saints. They go on the road to take on the Panthers in Week 9. Robinson may not be able to play due to this forearm injury.

NO - No practice for RB Pierre Thomas
    Source: NFL
New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas (ribs, shoulder) did not practice Tuesday, Oct. 28.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It's a short week for the Saints. Thomas may not be able to play on Thursday night against the Panthers.

CAR - RB DeAngelo Williams limited
    Source: NFL
Carolina Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams (ankle) was limited in practice Tuesday, Oct. 28.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Williams should be back this week. However, he's returning to a backfield where he'll split time with Jonathan Stewart. The Panthers play the Saints at home on Thursday night, and we can only recommend Williams as a low-end RB3/flex play.

STL - Jake Long to IR
    Source: ESPN - Adam Caplan
The St. Louis Rams placed OT Jake Long (knee) on Reserve/Injured Tuesday, Oct. 28.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Long has talent, but he's one of the most injury prone players in the league. He injured the same knee in Week 16 last year. Long will be replaced in the lineup by rookie Greg Robinson.

NYJ - QB Geno Smith's availability in question
    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini
New York Jets QB Geno Smith's (shoulder) availability for Week 9 against the Kansas City Chiefs is in question, and he's experiencing 'minor soreness.' However, head coach Rex Ryan downplayed the severity of Smith's injury, and said the team hopes he can resume throwing by Wednesday, Oct. 29. QB Matt Simms will be ready just in case.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Even if Smith was 100 percent healthy, the team looks like it is moving forward with Michael Vick as the starter. This injury is only a footnote. Smith has clearly struggled as a starter, and the team is desperate for wins.

SEA - No rift between 'Hawks, RB Marshawn Lynch
    Source: ESPN.com - Terry Blount
Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch does not have a rift between himself and the team, according to head coach Pete Carroll. A report Sunday, Oct. 26, said that the Seahawks had grown tired of Lynch's ways. 'At this point, I don't think it behooves us to try to respond to all these kinds of things,' Carroll said. 'Our players have told you how they feel about it, and we're in a really good place right now. It's just not worth it, but there's nothing to that.' Lynch has 111 carries for 482 yards this season.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The team could move on from Lynch in the offseason, but that was largely expected even before this drama. The Seahawks need to get back on track in defense of their championship. If the playoffs started today, Seattle would be out of the picture.

NO - TE Jimmy Graham limited Tuesday
    Source: ESPN.com - Mike Triplett
New Orleans Saints TE Jimmy Graham (shoulder) was limited in practice Tuesday, Oct. 28. Graham said he still expects to play.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Graham looked more like his old self in Week 8. Fantasy owners should feel confident relying on him once again as a TE1.

TB - RB Doug Martin and WR Vincent Jackson stay
Source: NFL Network - Albert Breer
Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin and WR Vincent Jackson were not traded as the NFL trade deadline passed Tuesday, Oct. 28, despite several rumors leading up to the deadline.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Martin was damaged goods as he's been banged up since his fantastic rookie season in 2012. Jackson is a seasoned veteran, but the Bucs weren't able to move him before the trade deadline.

PIT - WR Antonio Brown having amazing year
    Source: ESPN.com - Scott Brown
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown leads the NFL with 60 catches and is second in receiving yards with 852 after the first eight weeks of the season. Brown is on pace for 120 catches and 1,704 yards, which would both be team records. He set the team record for receiving yards last year with 1,499. Brown has seven touchdowns, which is just one fewer than he had all of last year. He had 10 catches for 133 yards and two touchdowns in the team's Week 8 win over the Indianapolis Colts.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
He's in the discussion as one of the best receivers in the game right now. Brown is a favorite target of Ben Roethlisberger and we've see the Steelers turn their offense over to the veteran quarterback. That means Brown will be heavily targeted and heavily involved each and every week. He's a no-brainer must-start for fantasy owners.

CLE - Isaiah Crowell needs to protect ball
Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot
Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell could be on the field more if he could protect the ball better, according to head coach Mike Pettine. Pettine said part of the team's decision to stick with Ben Tate late in Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders was because of Crowell's fumble issues.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Crowell is incredibly talented as a runner, but it doesn't matter if he can't hang onto the rock. We'll see if the rookie can impress enough in practice during the week to get more playing time. Pettine added that he would like Crowell to get more touches this week.

    NFL- CB Champ Bailey retiring
Source: The Baltimore Sun - Aaron Wilson
Free-agent CB Champ Bailey (Saints) has announced he is retiring, according to his agent.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Countdown about five years and we'll see Bailey in the Hall of Fame. Bailey had elite speed and could shut down the best receivers, but (unlike Deion Sanders) he also liked to tackle.

SF - RB Marcus Lattimore to return Wednesday
Source: San Jose Mercury News - Cam Inman
San Francisco 49ers RB Marcus Lattimore (knee) will make his season debut on the practice field Wednesday, Oct. 29, and the team will have three weeks to evaluate whether to bring him off the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list. It's unknown how Lattimore will factor into the running back mix if he returns.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We've got out fingers crossed. Lattimore is an incredibly gifted runner when healthy. He's been through two devastating knee injuries suffered in college at South Carolina, and he may never be the same back. Dynasty owners are waiting with bated breath here.

DAL - RB DeMarco Murray reaches 1,000 yards
    Source: ESPN.com
Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray became the first running back to reach 1,000 yards this season during the team's Week 8 game Monday, Oct. 27. He finished the game with 19 carries for 141 yards and four catches for 80 yards.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Murray extends his NFL record with his eighth-straight 100-yard rushing game to begin the season. With 11 more carries he'll surpass the number of carries he had last year in 14 games. Murray has never played a full 16-game schedule before in his pro career, and we think it would be wise for the Cowboys to ease his workload just a tiny bit. Fantasy owners need to grab Joseph Randle off the waiver wire just in case.

DET - DT Nick Fairley could be lost for season
    Source: ESPN.com - Michael Rothstein
Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions DT Nick Fairley (knee) isn't certain to return this season, according to head coach Jim Caldwell. Fairley is dealing with a sprained knee, but there is hope that he can return in four to five weeks. Fairley had to be helped off the field in Week 8, and he was placed on a cart and taken to the locker room. He had 14 tackles and a sack through eight games.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Earlier reports seemed to indicate that Fairley would be out 4-5 weeks. Now, the timetable is non-existent. Consider him doubtful to return until we hear more about the nature of this knee injury.
