Unless you keep a short hook on the other pitcher?

Pitch the Bumgarner the whole 9 innings, ala Lolich.

Two days rest after throwing over 100 pitches. Maybe good in 7th inning for 3-6 outs. Can't imagine his arm will be crisp like normal though.

if he pitches on 2 days rest and throws a complete game shut out then in my book he is worthy of the title
"Best pitcher in the World"
If you can be at your best on 2 days rest and still have the same velocity then you are super human.

He is not starting. He told the manager he is available out of the bullpen. Manager claims if he desparately needs an out or 2, he might use him, but is trying to get by without him. I imagine game 7, all hands on deck as needed, both teams. BOL tonight men.

Starting on two days rest after a CG? Come on. He can maybe go 2 to 3 innings tops, and no saying if he'll be any good Giants seems too desperate. Royals look like winner.

As a Royals backer, I would love for him to start on two days rest. Kid ain't Koufax.

This is why you are not managing. Lol. Starting a pitcher on 2 days rest, KC will get to him.

it's very well known that he will probably trot out bumgarner on the first sign of hudson trouble. not sure how the kid will do on a few days rest though.
like my position with royals at +206 for this game.

If it's so boring to you, and you haven't watched a single pitch, according to you, why do you bother posting anything???

I would whatever it took to win this one game. I'm sure the manager is taking his best guess. The guy is a future hall of famer.

Heart can only get you so far without the physical tools. On 2 days rest there is no way that Bumgarner will be at his best. You are talking about sending the guy out there 72 hours after throwing over 100 pitches in a CG to face the same lineup for the 3rd time in the last 10 days or so. Thats just a setup for failure because the Royals hitters have already had a good look at him and he wouldn't have his best stuff.
Much better option to go with Hudson on a very short leash. Bumgarner I am sure will be available for an inning or two afterwards if the Giants fall behind. Thats a much better plan.

Royals want no part of him . If he can get you 2 or 3 innings why not start him where he's comfortable and possibly have a lead. If they fall behind in that atmosphere tonight with a well rested Royals bullpen it's going to be very difficult to come back. I would take my chances on him being more effective on 2 days rest than Hudson on 4 . Take the crowd out of the game early.

no way in f####ing hell he can be effective on 2 days rests ..its ludicrous to even think he can. I see KC in another blowout with Sf throwing the towel before the game is over. loving the royals and my series bet.

So then maybe he can pitch every inning of every game?
