Ra77er, I go to the island all the time to conduct business at the county courthouse and other nearby places.

The water isn't great, but I've seen worse in Texas City and other places along the coast. It's not a bad spot to hit on a weekday when things are kind of quiet and few people are hanging around the beach, but it's not really a great vacation spot or a place I'd want to spend an entire weekend at ... Moody Gardens has some decent stuff to check out, though.

We typically just like to stroll the beach in the early am, maybe hang out by the docks and grab a few pounds of fresh shrimp to take home, shit like that. Too old now to run around the beach like maverick but still enjoy the atmosphere. Will check out Moody Gardens
