Well here we go, this is it guys the moment everyone has been waiting for. I'm allin tonight on the Oilers for about 2 cases of Bud platinum. If they lose to the Flyers tonight this thread will be buried forever or until I get bored again. The Oilers suck so damn much, it's not even funny anymore. Now I regret they let Draisaitl stay and didn't put him in the junior leagues this year. Seriously, what could he learn this year? How to lose? (not talking about this specific game, but the season)Comment -

Oiler Fans this is the year we make the playoffs. Razzle will bring this home this year!!
This is the last year at Rexall center, should have homage patches on the jerseys at some point.
We are wearing the Orange throwbacks....8.3/10 on the style meter.
We have a "mick" phenom that we can build the train on for years to come.
Shorthanded notes for tonight are:
-Ryan N-H needs to get better on faceoffs PERIOD. Backes and the russian are going to be incredibly hard to beat tonight but we need to start with faceoffs imho.
-Cam can take us to the playoffs but we need to get a little more physical, we have made some moves that hopefully can help facilitate this. I am concerned about Cam coming from the NYR and the style they played compared to the Oilers.
-Eberle out doesn't feel good but they had time to handle this prior to tonight/season so I hope? we can absorb the loss and keep the ship steady until his return. Going to miss him especially on the road games like tonight.
-I think the best play is Over 5.5. however I personally am not playing that due to price.....if it goes to a shootout, Elliot clearly favored.
-I did play Edmonton +170. I really think this number is too high even being a homer, however it is the first game of the season so probably best to take a wait and see approach hence the late post.

Boo I decided last year to find a team to root for and I wanted to cheer for one of the worst teams in the league.
The consensus in russian rockets thread was Edmonton was the worst so I started this thread and started looking deep into this teams statistics and only this team. I never had a team that I rooted for even though I have followed the NHL loosely for years.
I did like Calgary when I was younger only because of McGuyver but never had a team in NC growing up... now I root for Edmonton because of SBR.
My goal is to bring a playoff berth eventually Lord Stanleys cup to Oiler nation again. Bringing back the 80's basically.
Afterwards I will be personally mailed tickets to games and showered with betpoints, good looking oiler women photos etc. Just being recognized as the greatest american armchair goalie would be an honor. Gretzky autograph wouldn't hurt either
