Not really sure I'd classify him as a father. I think sperm donor is more apropo.

The guy has 7 kids by 5 different women in 5 different states. He rarely even sees these kids.

I find zero nobility in beating some little kid under the guise of being a good father. If you want to be a good dad, try being there on a daily basis for your kids. Setting a daily example of what a man is supposed to be like.

I think this is more reflective of Peterson's upbringing and his definition of "normal" vs. him being a bad person.

I'm not defending him, far from it, but I'm a 40-year-old white guy from the midwest. I can't even begin to understand how he was raised and what he would define as acceptable punishment. It's wrong, dead wrong, but I think it's more a matter of sheer ignorance on his part than anything else.

Example, what if your child tried to cross the street in traffic? You tell them not to run into the street, they continue to do it, time after time. What do you do eventually? Keep sending them to timeout?
