#39Excuses
Last I checked a Qb to be successful requires support, receivers, running gm, o-line, play calling, a defense that does not put you in big holes etc. It's still a team gm last I checked and even if your name is Peyton, Rodgers, or Brady you need some of those factors at least going your way. Kid is young and this was a tough test which is why even as a Raider fan I layed the 5. No need to rush into assumptions this early on Carr or compare him to his brother. Eli is no Peyton either and has worked with more all around talent most of his career!

you made this bold prediction:
then started making excuses after he led the raiders to -15 yards of offense in 5 possessions.Originally posted by NYSportsGuy210Game has not started yet....5 minutes to kick off. But we are about to witness the greatest surprise story of the 2014 NFL season right here boys. This kid passes the eye ball test and accuracy - arm strength test with flying colors.

#43Far as "the truth" I get it too early still let him have some time. Far as QB's go throw #'s and all that shit out the window for most part. You can just spot a real Qb who has potential and upside with the eye test. Kid is smart, poised pretty well, has swagger/confidence and can zip the football rest is up to the talent that's around him. Some guys have fallen by the wayside over the years who may have shined if put in a better situation.Comment -

where did i disagree that raiders lack talent on the offensive side? i've been saying that for years.
i was referring to his bold prediction that carr was "the truth" and would be the "greatest surprise story of the 2014 season," then began making excuses when he started to suck. why would someone make such a bold prediction knowing the raiders lack talent on the offensive side or did he just find that out in the 4th quarter?Comment -

he's the one who proclaimed carr as "the truth" and the "greatest story of 2014" then started backpeddling and blaming the guys around him for making his prediction look like the joke it is.
so how is he not making excuses?Comment -

#57Crusty, it seems a lot of people here are scared and confused with the term "excuse". It's almost like their brain can't process what we would consider such a simple word so they feel they need to lash out because of this scary new word being thrown at them.Comment -

#59Crusty he's not back peddling hahaha. Did Peyton for ex look like the "truth" necessarily in his rookie year? No he struggled alot but you could just tell he was a real QB and had alot of talent. Not saying Carr is Peyton by any means but think the OP is just implying the future should be bright and expects him to grow and mature while hopefully making the talent around him better as season goes. That is the definition of the "the truth" far as a Qb is concerned and no reason to think otherwise at this point.Comment -
