Here is the real reason why you do not take make this bet. Over the past 9 years, the defending Super Bowl Champs have a record of 1-4 in the following years first playoff game. That means 4 times they did not even make the playoffs the following year. So once, in the past 9 seasons, the Super Bowl Champ has actually make the playoffs the following year and won a game. And you want to take +110 that Seattle does it? That is the very definition of a "sucker bet".

It's a dumb bet, as others have said, because it ties up your money and you never know what kind of injuries can occur over a 16 game season. Plus the odds are terrible. You're basically betting they win at least 11 games AND beat an unknown opponent at an undetermined location.

Even the futures odds of SEA winning the NFC Championship at 3/1 is terrible odds.

Philly and Indy are the only teams worth betting to win the NFC/AFC, both at 12/1.
