baseball ratings continue to trend downward. don't know about 2013 and 2014 but don't think it's near the 2003 numbers

        2012 2.50 million
        2011 2.74 million
        2010 2.70 million
        2009 2.70 million
        2008 2.90 million
        2007 3.31 million
        2006 3.34 million
        2005 3.60 million
        2004 3.44 million
        2003 3.37 million

i was speaking of attendance,, and i dont know that it up everywhere but i know stl, la,ny,bos, chc and prob few others all reg get over 3 mil in attendance every year.. dont think you will ever go to a cards gm and not see at least 30k on weeknights vs crap teams and 40+ on weekends..much the same in several cities.. clearly it a older crowd and younger generation not as interested but i could care less, im from stl im genetically predisposed to loving baseball, even if that when i take some of my best naps!

Baseball is healthier than ever....I find it crazy as well, but television revenue is through the roof and even though attendance may be down, clubs are MUCH more profitable than they were in 2003.

dodgers got a $7 billion tv deal so yeah, they're not exactly suffering. but fans are suffering because they cant watch the games unless theyre with time warner.

                Biggest joke ever.

Most of the entire Southland unable to listen to Vin Scully.

                Totally embarrassing.

a lot of attendance is deceiving

many tickets bought in advance from corproarations as tax write offs

many do not go or use them

Oak/Mets should be low scoring series

I think the A's still win the west solely based off their pitching, but it's really up in the air at this point. They still have 10 games vs. the Angels. The thing is the A's should feel confident with any of their starting pitchers (maybe not hammel but even if so they have pomeranz or jessee chavez) in a series when the Angels can only really rely on two starting pitchers (weaver and richards). They always seem to heat up in September anyways. I think it's going to be them vs. the tigers again, except this time in the ALCS.

And I think the Angels had shown interest in Jon Lester at the trade deadline, and if this is true it was well worth them giving up cespedes for lester, especially if that gave the Angels an ace.
