Theory and practical application don't always get together. One thing for sure: you have to control your emtions when losing and be in check with your expectations in the long run. And the pressure of doubling your roll every 3 month after you built it up (theoretically) to 10k (e.g.) could very well be a false expectation.
In theory doubling 100 to 200 should be same as doubling 100k to 200k but I think (not that I experienced it) that the emotional factor kicks in after you reach 100k so it will be more difficult, I assume.
