Just saw contract is front loaded tho for 1st two years and Bungles can get out of it after that. Essentially it's worth less than 100 mill total as well the rest is bonuses. Not a bad deal at all considering the market. He's not elite but is a good/solid starter in a league where elite guys are very rare that next tier Dalton is in are not easy to come by either!

You have to remember that many of these owners are billionaires. They have so much money they literally have no idea what to do with it. When you're talking about a million here and a million there for an athlete's contract, they couldn't care less.

If Mike Illitch was told he would have to pay Miguel Cabrera $100 million a year, he would. The $$$ at that level and stage is meaningless to them.
