Honestly guys,

The better lineup today will be Royals.

Losing cespedes takes a lot out of them. His speed his power.

They didn't NEED lester.

Anyways, Royals RL is the play today.

If Fuld can continue his play anywhere close to what he did in July, the A's won't care. They'll miss Cespedes power but we all know Beane cares about OBP and Fuld has been 50 points better than Cespedes in that regard. I don't know about his defense but when you have that starting rotation ...

Who did they sign overnight? Moose can't hit a lefthander if his life depended on it...trust me I've lived through it for months just watching his act...Their entire lineup is anemic, and they were really lucky last night to win. When you've got to rely on Raul Ibanez to hit a home run there's a problem...so to say they're the better lineup is a little misleading IMO

Moose is .429 vs Lester. Maybe their is some hope for him tonight.

If you want to play the BEANE game, then Royals is .5 better, which is HUGE vs career hitting.

Sure there is a 74 batt difference. HOWEVER you can't take it away.

Power goes too - Royals

All I'm saying, is that line is over-juiced because of Lester. You need RUNS to win the game.

Hitting is a - push in this match

OBP- Royals

Pitching- Close, given career, goes to Lester.

Take it for what it's worth.

I don't like Jason Vargas in this spot .... agree that the line is way over-juiced, opened at -215 OAK.
Okaland has a good chance today versus Vargas, hope they don't blow it.

Most runs scored in baseball this year so it can't be that bad even w/o overrated Cespedes.

I'm with ya...but you left out the other part of his hitting left handed problem and stats for the year: 33 games....44 ABs...6 hits...and a .136 average....and the .429 average against Lester is because he's only seen Lester 7 times...no HRs...not exactly some blistering trend like he owns him.

Also, Vargas is a salad thrower....he'll be maxing out at 87 today on his fast ball...and relying on his changeup...I saw him throw twice this year at the K...once he was lights out...and the other time it was like batting practice for the Tigers. Vargas is coming off of the DL so I'm really hesitant to back him in this spot.

I'm going to be honest with you.

I agree with your points however, having you appendix taken out isn't a huge surgery.

I can almost guarantee he was throwing a week later.

As I've had this surgery. He is still in shape and will pitch a solid game.
