What about Moss? Gomes was good with Oakland. He pretty much replaces Cespedes. Again, Cespedes highly hyped and does fun stuff in the outfield, but at the plate short of an occasional moonshot he's underwhelming.

No, and the A's gave up their best 2 prospects for him and Samardzija, including SS Addison Russell one of the best prospects in baseball. Bane going all in and then some. Gomes is great vs left handed pitching for what its worth and he gives 110% along with being a great club house guy.
There's some intangibles with him, but if lester really returns and we keep cespedes..what a steal

Cespedes is gone after next season anyways, so you get Lester to go all in for this WS this year. If they don't get it this year they will be slightly fuked for next year with no Lester or Cesp, but after that they are in the same position. Also not like Cespedes is a true superstar, a lot of hype and pretty good but dat rotation now

Cespedes is a talent, no doubt, but his numbers aren't much better than Gomes. Oakland is already ranked 1st in runs and they will remain at the top without Cespesdes. Lester is just more solid pitching for the A's as the playoffs approach. If Oaklands don't win the WS this year with all the moves they've made, they won't get one in the next five years.
