    MLB First Half Fun Facts
    • 2014 is just the 4th MLB season in the past 100 years (1992, 1958, 1943) where every team in baseball had a winning percentage at or over .400 at the end of the first half.

    • Five teams (Astros, White Sox, Braves, Marlins, Cubs) have struck out at least 800 times this year. Prior to 2014 there were only four instances EVER that a team had at least 800 whiffs in the first half.

    • As a team, the Orioles have stolen just 26 bases this year, the fewest steals by any AL team in the first half since the Rangers in 2006.

    • Charlie Morton is the first player in MLB history to hit at least 16 batters in the first half.

    • Phil Hughes joined Bret Saberhagen in 1994 as the only pitchers in MLB history to strikeout out over 100 batters while walking fewer than 12 in the first half.

    • Tyson Ross is the first player since Jim Abbott in 1992 to lose 10 games in the first half with an ERA under 3.00.

    • Aroldis Chapman is just the 2nd pitcher in MLB history (Mariano Rivera in 1998) to save over 20 games while finishing fewer than 25 games in the first half.

    • David Price has set a new franchise record for most games started (20), most innings pitched (147.2), and most strikeouts (164) in the first half by a Rays pitcher.

I find the Tyson Ross fact interesting. I would think that happens rarely, but more often than it does. Also, weren't there more games played in the first half this year than in most years? About every team played between 94 and 98, always thought that number was closer to 90-92

                          Good stuff, Nash. (as always)
Found this little tidbit on armadillo sports:
The NYY starting pitchers have only recorded 33 outs all season after the 7th inning. While J Cueto has gotten 35 outs past the 7th inning in his 20 starts this season.
                          Good luck.
